On December of this year, my passport is going to expire and it takes three months for you to get a new Philippine passport after renewal. This task is long overdue but I became so preoccupied with other duties that I had to set it aside. Thankfully, my friend Isaac wanted to go to the Philippine Embassy for voter’s registration so we set a date.
The Philippine Embassy in London is not that difficult to find. Just get yourself to Trafalgar Square and you can walk from there. The address and directions can be found on the website.
The Philippine flag outside the embassy.
As soon as we stepped into this tiny Philippine soil in the UK, it already felt like home after seeing all the kababayans inside. It is small and there were a lot of people inside but we didn’t mind because we have all day. We filled up the forms then sat down in the waiting area where there is television and Showtime is on. I never fancied watching television at all but seeing a Pinoy show on TV somehow puts a smile on my face.
The process was quick despite the fact that there are numerous others who were there to get their own passports renewed. The staff are friendly as well unlike in the Philippines where government employees are usually (not all of them) rude. While waiting, Butch and I were just exchanging Pinoy stereotype jokes about the Philippine embassy here not having vendors outside that sells ball pen, brown envelope, cigarettes, candies, etc.
By the time we finished, we had the whole day to ourselves. Of course we took photos.
The Gallery behind us…
Between the You sculpture.
We walked around while we decide where to go next and took a few more photos along the way.
Just because we like this wall.
Emo wall shot!
Eventually, we came up with a decision to go to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park because Butch wanted to see it. Strolled around then had lunch at Wagamama then off to the Olympic Park. Butch has his GoPro with him so of course, more photos.
Where am I again?
Uhh…I don’t really know what that thing behind me is…
Butch didn’t send me all the pictures (drat!) that’s why it’s mostly me (my apologies) but that’s pretty much it. We walked around some more and then decided to have dinner and some drinks at my place. Craving of KFC satisfied today and all is well.
